About FIBER

FIBER is a cultural organisation that operates at the intersection of digital art forms, audiovisual performances, electronic music and artistic research. The annual FIBER Festival is the multi-day event that takes place at several unique locations in Amsterdam. From artistic pioniers like Garage Noord and Door Open Space, theatres like the Brakke Grond to international institutions like the Muziekgebouw and Concertgebouw.

Besides the festival editions, the foundation works on a lab and event programme, which functions as a presentation and research platform for makers in digital culture. In doing so, FIBER unlocks and catalyses the work of a new generation of makers, who make the workings and impact of digital technologies on culture, creative industry and our living environment visible and tangible.

We are looking for talented interns who would like to further grow in marketing & communication, with a focus on content creation, event support, documentation and social media. Can you bring our content to life via social media via written and audiovisual content? Do you like to write and are you interested in projects at the intersection of art, performance, technology and ecology? Are you capable of creating rich online content with a focus on video? Then we are looking forward to hearing from you!

Internship description

You will help shape FIBER’s communications across storytelling, design, editorial work, digital platforms and event-related content, working closely with our small team. Because communication is broad, we welcome different skill sets, you don’t need to match all criteria. There are several roles you can grow into, depending on your strengths and interests.   • Collaborating on the launch of new events (Studio Visits, Workshops, FIBER Labs and possible preparations for the FIBER Festival) and merch;

  • Assist with design, video editing, DTP work;

  • Possible other work based on your skills and area of interest.

We ask

  • You have a relevant education (digital culture, media, art/cultural sciences, (online) communication, journalism, etc.) combined with an interest in the field of art, culture, creative technology and electronic music;

  • Essential: an active working attitude, enthusiasm, hands-on mentality, flexibility and independence;

  • You have some knowledge of social media (Meta Business Suite), Insta/FB Stories, LinkedIn, Telegram), and have basic experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Wordpress, Mailchimp and are capable of using video editing software.

We offer

  • We offer you work experience in a growing cultural organisation with a national and international network;

  • We offer you an internship remuneration of €210 per month based on 24 hours per week + travel expenses reimbursed outside of peak hours.

A diverse cultural sector

FIBER wants to give the most diverse group of young people a chance to make professional steps within the cultural and creative industries. Therefore, we actively seek, and welcome, applicants from ethnic or culturally diverse backgrounds, different genders, or people with unconventional career paths. We work towards a diverse composition of team and activities. In case of equal suitability, we will invite someone who increases the diversity of perspectives within our organisation.

Are you interested?

Apply before January 12th via the link below and share your CV and written motivation. It would be nice if you clearly indicate what you want to learn and can contribute to our organisation.
